I don’t feel my day is anchored if I don’t do my morning routine.

When I pause to reflect mid day if my day is going well or not, I end up not worrying about it if I recollect that I did my morning routine. So it acts as a good anchor.

These days, my morning goes like this. I have been able to keep this up for 8 months now. It requires that I am disciplined enough to go to bed at 9:30 to get decent sleep.

4–4:30 AM wake up/drink coffee

4:30–5 Plan for the day, catch up on news

5–5:45 — Shower, Sandhya Vandhanam

5:45–6 — Listen to Daily Upanyasam

Then day starts….
